Manchester Cycling Academy is based at the Altrincham Campus of Trafford College. The campus is a newly built facility based on the Washway Road, Altrincham, within ten minutes walk of the nearest Metrolink Station at Timperley and immediately adjacent to the main bus routes from Manchester to Altrincham.
It will take less than fifteen minutes on your bike to reach the country lanes of leafy Cheshire where much of your time will be spent on training rides. Our loop around the lanes of Pickmere is only a short distance away and the challenging hills of the Peak District are just a warm up ride away too. The National Cycling Centre in central Manchester is easily accessed and has fantastic facilities for BMX, Mountain Biking and of course, the boards on the world famous Velodrome itself.
You will spend the majority of your time at the Altrincham Campus, with occasional visits to other campuses, including that at Talbot Road, Stretford, depending on your course choice. This too, is easily accessible via the excellent Metrolink system.
Trafford College has been rated ‘Good’ by Ofsted for its teaching and learning excellence. It has 5 National Skills Academies for excellence in training and offers many different courses. You can choose from traditional academic or vocational courses and in addition, the College has Beacon Status, making it one of the top 8% in the country. Trafford College also has STEM Assured status for the quality of its delivery of Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths.
