About Us

Manchester Cycling Academy was founded by two professionals who have been colleagues and friends for over 20 years. Both Academy Directors met when volunteering for the Student Rugby League organisation when Vinny was head coach of the Academic Lions, the British Student Rugby League team and Stef was press officer.

Stef went on to work for the Rugby Football League on projects such as the Rugby League World Cup, the World Famous Challenge Cup and international tours whilst Vinny continued with his successful coaching career, overseeing the Academic Lions to much success and securing a World Championship with the British Amateurs against Italy.

We will be revealing the make up of the coaching team over the next few weeks and we look forward to sharing our exciting news with you.

A lifelong competitive cyclist, she competed for many years before becoming a ride leader, a role that she approaches with enthusiasm and determination. She is well-regarded in the north west-region and delivers on the Ride leadership, British Cycling Coach Education and Bikeability instructors’ programmes as well as the Accredited Marshalling scheme, being an accredited marshall herself.

A serving Police Officer responsible for mentoring and tutoring new recruits to the force, she is widely recognised as being the go to person for young people who need guidance both in cycling and her current day job.

Danielle is also a brand ambassador for Trek Bikes where she leads rides and organises community activity in the Wilmslow and Cheshire area.

She has had a lot of success with her local club, Cheshire Maverick, where she regularly hosts rides for newcomers to the club, a role she combines with that of British Cycling ride leader, which sees her host female only rides and coaching sessions  on behalf of British Cycling.
